Growing Up With Two Older Sisters...

I am the youngest of 3 children with one sister being 6 years older than me and the other 8. When we were younger the usual fighting and bickering occurred between us all and I thought that it would never change. However as I have heard with a lot of people, me and my sisters have had a great relationship since they moved out of the family home. I do not know why but it suddenly sprung into my mind to write a post about the benefits of growing up with two older sisters - both who I looked up to immensely and still do.

Second Mother - My oldest sister Kirsty was like a second mother to me growing up. My mum worked and my dad has never really been in my life so she used to take me out a lot. Kirsty went on to be a wonderful mother of 3 children and Jen to 2. That is another point actually, watching them being fab mothers will hopefully help me when if I eventually have children (that is if I am not put off by then)

Hand-me-Down Clothes - I always felt like I had the coolest clothes growing up as Jen would come round with bags full of hand-me-downs after cleaning out her wardrobe. It never actually dawned on me that she must have been giving them away as they were no longer the most fashionable anymore though... Still I appreciate it! My sisters were also my source of fashion inspiration, I just thought they were the bees knees.

Hair and Makeup Artists - Along with helping me out in the fashion department, they also helped me with my overall beauty routine. I liked to copy their hairstyles but also liked letting Kirsty do my hair. I have a school photo of me in primary school looking like a little pirate with a full head of individual pleats but at the time I felt amazing. Kirsty also used to pluck my eyebrows for me saving me from many awful 'I cannot believe my eyebrows were like that' photos.

Always Have a Shopping Partner - If I ever need to go find an outfit for a special occasion or just generally feel like shopping (which isn't much, I am poor) one of my sisters are always more than happy to come. I am never stuck for a shopping partner!

Someone to Talk to - Again they are always there if I need to talk to someone. I can literally say anything to them and get great advice and their honest opinion back. Everyone needs that.

I never thought that I would be so soppy towards my sisters but I really could not imagine growing up with anyone else. My sisters are definitely my best friends, even though they are annoying sometimes.

Holiday Outfit #3 - Florals

Dress - New Look
Shoes - New Look
Bracelet - Accessorize
Sunglasses - eBay

This has to be one of my favourite outfits that I wore on holiday as it just looks so girly but was so comfortable on. The dress is such a light material which felt amazing in the heat! The cut out shoulders also provided some relief. I am telling you, it was so hot. I love the cute floral pattern, mainly the colours as I just think that they work so well together. The sandals were a sale purchase from New Look and although I love the way they look, they were not the comfiest. Lets just blame that on my broad feet as it was the front strap that was too tight. My bracelet is actually one I wear to work but it was too pretty not to take on holiday with me. Saying that, I took so many necklaces with me for that reason but only wore one...

Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara

In the mornings I spend far too long filling in my eyebrows with powder and making sure the lines are straight... so when Maybelline's Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara was presented to me by a youtuber, I knew that I had to have it. Here is what I think:

First of all this product was a savior to me while I was on holiday as filling in my brows felt like too much effort. Every morning I brushed this through my brows creating more definition and overall making them look more presentable, it also did not melt off down my face in the 35 degree heat which is great. Some areas of my brows are really sparse but I feel that when I wear this they look that tad bit fuller. The wand is a perfect shape too, the rounded bit at the end grabs every hair and means that I can get to the thinner part of my brows without getting the mascara all over my skin. The product also looks great as a finishing product over already filled in brows. My routine now consists of using Sleeks eyebrow kit's powder and then this mascara on top. Saying that, the image above features just the mascara as I wanted you to really see how it looks. So for £4.99 this mascara met my high expectations and is definitely worth a try!

Holiday Outfit #2 - Mint and Black

Top - New Look
Shorts - Boohoo
Shoes - New Look
Bag - New Look
Sunglasses - eBay

This outfit is so simple but was beyond comfy. I knew as soon as I started holiday clothes shopping (about 4 months too early) that black runner shorts were an essential. These ones were a bargain at just £10. The only problem with them is that the waistband kept twisting which was rather annoying. I teamed them with this mint coloured crop top which was in the sale for £5 - which was another great deal. I was so happy with how well this bag went with the outfit as it was unintentional... its bad but while on holiday I tend to not worry which bag goes best, its usually more about practicality. The price of the bag carries on the bargain aspect of this post as it only cost £12 down from around £25 (I think). A necklace is also included in this outfit however I just noticed now that it cannot really be seen. Really it was just a necklace with square white stones and a gold chain, you get the gist.

Don't you just love bargains?

NYX Lipliner in Ever

Instagram is a terrible place for making me impulse buy. There are so many accounts of amazing makeup artists (incredibly jealous of their skills) and I so often want half of the products that they post. Here is an example - this gorgeous liner from NYX in the shade Ever.

I actually wear this liner with no lipstick or gloss as it is just such a gorgeous colour by itself. It is not too drying either which I find most lip liners are when worn by themselves. The shade matches almost every makeup look, I love wearing it with a very simple eye such as a thin line of liner and mascara making the lip colour really pop. NYX's liners are quickly becoming one of my favourite lip products to use and at around £4-£5 you really cannot go wrong. I also have to mention that the shade range is amazing!

Holiday Outfit #1 - Bardot and Denim

Top - New Look
Shorts - New Look
Sunglasses - eBay
Shoes - New Look (last year)

I wish that I could say that my paleness in these photos is due to them being taken on the first day of my holiday... but really reality is that I did not tan at all while in Malaga for 2 weeks. Bummer. The holiday was still amazing though and I am so sad to be back.

This top was only around £10 which is such a bargain, I think it might even be in the sale now! At first I thought that it would constantly need adjusted but it actually was not too bad. I just find it is so flattering due to the frill and also how it is elasticated at the bottom which sinches in my waist. The shorts were also a bargain at around £9 down from £22. I am telling you, the New Look sale definitely got to my bank account this year. They were really comfy though and not stiff like some denim shorts are. Finally my shoes were just comfy black sandals that were worn most of the holiday!

Did you get anything from the New Look sale this year?

Holiday Buys - Bottoms

1- Boohoo: £8, 2- Primark: £5, 3- Missguided: £15, 4- Boohoo: £5, 5- New Look: £13,
6- New Look: £9 (sale), 7- Boohoo: £12

I am not usually a shorts person but when hunting for holiday clothes, so many nice ones popped up. My favourite style have to be the culotte shorts that look like a skirt (1,4) as they are so comfy on. The daisy print one is beyond cute too! I also added a trusty pair of denim (5) shorts as they go with absolutely everything, my mum is actually giving me a denim skirt for my birthday too which will be also be very versatile. On the top of my list to get was a pair of black shorts that could be used as a cover up and also part of an outfit therefore 7 are perfect! I also love how delicate the lace looks. Finally I was on the hunt for some maxi skirts however this proved difficult due to my lack of height.. but this one (2) from Primark is still gorgeous!

Soap and Glory's Supercat Eyeliner

The Collection felt tip liner has always been my holy grail for winged liner but recently I decided that I really needed to switch it up. After searching Boots for ages, I finally chose the Soap and Glory Supercat Eyeliner as I love the brand so why not? Here are my thoughts:

First of all the eyeliner is definitely as great as the Collection one. It is very pigmented and although the tip is pretty thick, it can create thin lines and thicker ones depending on the angle that you use it. As you can see from the photo above I tried to demonstrate this... rather badly I must admit. It is so easy to use which obviously is a plus point! I have not noticed any smudging while I have worn this, even after a tearful spell. I sort of accidentally feel asleep with liner on one night and the next morning when I woke up it was still perfect... something good out of a bad situation I guess. So for £6 this product is pretty great, the packing is cute too! I just cannot choose a favourite between my old love (the Collection liner) and this as although the Collection eyeliner is only £2.99 it does dry out quite quickly which evens out the playing field.

Holiday Buys - Tops

I have had so much fun holiday clothes shopping even though my bank account is currently crying. So why not make a mini series of all of the purchases that I have made so far? Its not much but I love seeing what other people bring on holiday so I hope you enjoy these posts!
1- New Look: £8.99, 2- Primark: £6, 3- New Look: £3 (sale), 4- New Look: £5 (sale), 5- Matalan: £10
6- New Look: £3 (sale), 7- Primark: £6, 8- New Look: £3 (sale), 9- New Look: £3 (sale)

As you can tell, sale shopping is what I am all about... especially when it comes to holiday clothes. This is because I am so bad at refusing to wear sleeveless tops here in the UK therefore would only wear most of these while I am on holiday. The gypsy style off the shoulder tops are everywhere right now therefore I just had to buy a few! They are just so feminine and I love the vibe that they give to an outfit. I also went for many plain tops as these would go with lots of different bottoms and could be styled up with jewellery. My favourite top of them all has to be number 1, I do not usually go for yellow but it is just beyond cute!
